Professional electric cargo bike are used intensively. Battery connection issue is common and is a combination of many problems.
When the bike is store outside, one problem is wet connector, especially for bike with a vertical battery setup.
Water accelerate surface oxydation and create bad connectivity. It reduce autonomy or even create faulty contact. A common solution is to dry the connector with a blower before pushing the battery in. All of these creating a loss of time and money.
Another solution is to protect the connector from the rain itself when the bike is stored outside, without battery.
